Professional Career Highlights – Teaching - Overview

I am a native-born American citizen residing in Asia.  As an academic I have an advance degree in History (MA) and BA with minor concentration in English, with an emphasis on the politico/military background of the Chinese littoral in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.   I have taught as an Instructor at the college level; AP, SAT English, and writing courses at the high school level in China, as well as participated in Rotary sponsored English teaching project in the Philippines.  (Please note that this cv only reviews my experience as relates to teaching.  I have in actuality spent most of my career in various aspects of electronic banking.)

 

Xiamen Foreign Language High School   2011 to 2013

English and History Instructor – Xiamen, China

Teach SAT English writing, conversational English, AP-level American History and World History and to second and third year students in a Sino-American program embedded at the leading public high school in Fujian Province.  Conduct instruction in English language research and report writing techniques and conventions.

Develop instruction plans, audio visual presentations and other learning aids.

Identify special projects for students so as to gain a deeper appreciation for the topic. 

Prepare and administer periodic examinations and other evaluations of student performance.
